Currency earned in training and first-time race wins, spent on food and cap upgrades.
Earning coins
Collect coins during training. Regular first wins award 50 coins for the two rounds in each area and the Japan Semi Final; the four Area Finals award 100 coins. Each prize is awarded once.
The championship
The first 
Championship Final win awards 200,000 coins. Repeat victories do not repay that prize.
Spending
Normal 
Seed cost 1 coin, 
Super Seed cost 15 coins, and 
Maximum Level Upgrade cost 50 coins per upgrade. Hats and paints cost nothing once unlocked.
