Duck Life 9: The Flock
Build a flock of racing ducks, develop their village and explore Featherhaven Island on the way to challenging Frank the Fire Duck.
A new adventure
The player is a new protagonist, as confirmed by the creator. Grow a
Flock Management, practise six racing skills and explore
Featherhaven Island. The opening mentions Marco stepping aside for family reasons; that does not make this duck the protagonist of
Duck Life 8: Adventure.
Train, recruit and build
Train a duck in the
Training Centre, challenge racers, then check the recruitment queue. Each new resident needs housing. Back in
The Flock Village, ducks gather materials, grow food, rest and share what they have learned.
The journey
Explore the island’s main areas and obtain tournament tickets or other required access items. Tournament qualifiers use three different flock ducks. Champions open further progression, ending with
The Final Race against
Frank the Fire Duck.
| Area | Main activities |
|---|---|
The Flock Village | Build houses for new recruits, maintain food and toilets, grow ingredients and collect construction materials. Shops and training facilities are built here. |
Fishing Beach | Benson supplies a Fishing Net and trades a caught Runt for a Fishing Rod. The rod reaches spots farther out to sea. |
Spring Meadows | Meet Percy and Brad, recruit race opponents, learn cooking with Mona, and complete the tournament against Tenzing. |
Quackbeard's Cove | Meet Monty and Fred. Search for treasure using a map, clues and a shovel; race in the tournament against Igor. |
Toadstool Towers | Kat teaches balancing. The Toadstool Tower is a separate challenge, and the tournament leads to a race against Jade. |
Crystal Desert | Find Crystal Keys A, B and C. Challenges include the Archery Cave, Hot Air Balloon and Crystal Mines. The tournament champion is Splinter. |
Sunflower Ravine | Explore the maze and help recover paper cranes before the tide takes them. The tournament champion is Dale. |
Cloud Kingdom | Collect the gems needed to power lifts, solve pipe puzzles and enter the tournament against Cynthia. The player-facing area name is Cloud Kingdom. |
Volcano Town | Recruit local racers, complete the town tournament and follow the route into the Volcano Interior. |
Volcano Interior | Challenge Flowfeather, Snowfeather and Flyfeather before facing Frank. The final race is a directly controlled obstacle course. |
Food and equipment
Use
Cooking and
Fishing to support the flock.
Equipment can provide racing-skill bonuses; dyes, hairstyles, eyes and tattoos offer further appearance choices.
After the final race
Recruit Frank, visit
Drake’s Cave with him and challenge
Gordon’s Gauntlet. The adventure’s Arcade reward is
Duck Life 1, confirmed by the creator. Its rules belong to
Duck Life 1; separately packaged
Retro Pack games do not share the main adventure’s progression.
Current and earlier editions
This reference leads with current rules. The creator identifies the cooking interface as the historical change worth explaining. Exact old-versus-new cooking steps are still awaiting confirmation.
Versions keeps platform controls and package differences separate.
